Hi, has anyone besides me experienced problems downloading Buster Keaton's "Speak Easily (1932)" MPEG 2.1 GB http://www.archive.org/details/SpeakEasily or "Steamboat Bill, Jr. (1928)" MPEG2 2.8 GB http://www.archive.org/details/SteamboatBillJr ? I though that perhaps it was a file size limit problem but upon searching the internet found that IE 8 is capable of downloading files up to 8 GB's in size. I thought I'd check here and make sure the links weren't broken before I started fiddling with my computer. I can download the files smaller than 2 GB fine. I'm using Windows XP. Thanks.

It may be that some of the Archive's servers are sometimes slow or unresponsive.

Is IE 8 capable of resuming an interrupted download? If it isn't, then it would be a big mistake to use it to download anything besides small files.

I don't know if IE8 can restart a download or not, all my other downloads when smooth and quick with no interruptions. The problem with the files mentioned is that the download won't even start. Thanks.

Hi, just to reassure you, no ego intended, go back to punch cards, reel to reel computers, now for me expediency, have old model lap top for internet, total crap, puter power wise antique but downloads just fine. No problems this web site, using IE9 and Google Chrome, again crap throw away lap top, no problems this site, problem your hardware, software. Erase all memory from your puter, history, etc. Can try free Internet download manager, free for a month, but think you have too much stacked up in browsing history.

Thanks. I deleted my browsing history (only a few files in there) and found a free download manager and still could not start a download of the 2 files in question.

Free Download Manager works well with IE8 and XP. I would not be without it.
